SHELDON MCNAMARA
MY STORY
After traveling abroad, and then working in the wine trade for 5 years, I moved back to the Wairarapa became involved in project managing new house builds and renovations for a family business, which also involved doing basic landscaping like lawns and planting.
After the housing market took a downturn I decided to concentrate on landscaping, so in 2011 I studied Landscaping at Weltec and completed a Level 4 landscape strand certificate in Horticulture and also competed at Ellerslie Flower Show winning a silver medal.
Since 2012 I have been working as a landscaper mainly in the Martinborough, Greytown, and Carterton area.
I enjoy the challenges of landscaping, especially doing jobs that are a bit different to the norm, and the satisfaction of seeing what you have achieved at the end of the day. But the most rewarding part of my work is seeing happy clients. With my work I mainly focus on the building side of landscaping but also enjoy planting and helping with design ideas.
